Ciao!

Nearly 15 years in the making, we’re finally getting married at our dream venue—Villa del Balbianello on Lake Como—and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with you!

Thank you for joining us for our wedding weekend of dolce vita bliss in one of the most romantic places in the world. We truly can’t wait to sip spritzes and espresso martinis, indulge in Italian wine and food, and share endless laughter and dancing beneath the Italian sunset.

We’re deeply grateful for each of you and the joy you bring into our lives, and we know this weekend will be filled with memories we’ll cherish forever. This site has all the details to help you make the most of the celebration. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. Salute!

"When you write the story of two happy lovers, let it be set on the shores of Lake Como." - Franz Liszt

That’s Amore

Though Deirdre and Alex both attended the University of San Diego, their paths truly crossed during a semester abroad in Madrid. A spark ignited during a two-week immersion course, and their first date—at Retiro Park—sealed the deal. Since then, they’ve shared countless adventures around the world, earned their MBAs (Alex at UT McCombs, Deirdre at Northwestern Kellogg), and got engaged on a snowy New Year’s Eve in Montana during a horse-drawn carriage ride. Now, they’re thrilled to say “I do” surrounded by their favorite people on the shores of Lake Como!

Travel

We’re so excited to celebrate with you in Lake Como!! To secure the best availability and rates, we recommend booking your travel and accommodations soon after confirming your attendance. Below, you'll find detailed recommendations to simplify your travel planning. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or if you’d like additional advice—we’re here to help!

FLIGHT

For guests traveling from the U.S., we recommend flying directly into Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP). Malpensa offers numerous international flights and is conveniently located about 45 minutes by car from our recommended hotels and wedding venue.

If you're traveling through other parts of Europe, alternative nearby airports include Milan Linate (LIN), Bergamo (BGY), or even Lugano (LUG) in Switzerland.

CAR & TAXI

Taxi: Taxis are readily available directly outside Malpensa Airport arrivals for easy transport to Lake Como (45 minutes).

Private Car/Van: For added comfort, we recommend arranging a private transfer in advance through your hotel or with one of the recommended providers listed below.

Car Rental: Renting a car is an option, though navigating Lake Como’s narrow roads and limited parking can be tricky. If renting, opt for a smaller vehicle and confirm parking availability at your accommodations beforehand.

TRAIN

If you prefer taking the train from Malpensa Airport, you can reserve a Trenord ticket online in advance or purchase one at the station upon arrival.

Take the Malpensa Express train directly from the airport to Milan Centrale (Milan’s main station). From there, take a train to Como San Giovanni Station, which takes around 30–40 minutes. From Como San Giovanni, it's a short ferry or taxi to Tremezzo or Bellagio.

Traveling through Switzerland? From Lugano Station, you can also take a 30-minute train ride to Como San Giovanni, then continue by ferry or taxi to Tremezzo or Bellagio.

WHERE TO STAY

We recommend booking accommodations in either Tremezzo or Bellagio, both of which offer beautiful options for your stay. Below, we’ve highlighted three hotels in each area. The hotels within each town are just a short walk apart, so guests staying in the same town will be only minutes from one another.

We’ll be staying in Tremezzo, which is closer to all wedding-related events, but transportation will be provided from both towns. Feel free to choose the location that works best for you! Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like additional hotel recommendations or advice on Airbnb/VRBO options!
